Welcome
Welcome to the ETI Corral 20 Web Site! These pages have been established to provide easy access to our schedules and information about our organization.
Equestrian Trails, Inc. was established as a nonprofit corporation in 1944 with the Charter to be "Dedicated to the Acquisition and Preservation of Trails, Good Horsemanship, and Equine Legislation."
With its combined membership, ETI has successfully worked to keep open our trails and add more equestrian facilities. The more members we have backing equine legislation and trail preservation, the more likely the State, County and City Officials will be to comply with our needs.

Bert Bonnett (1910-2012)
It is with heavy heart that we note the passing of a Southern California legend, Bert Bonnett. He left to join the everlasting trail ride about 5:15pm on the 23rd of January, 2012, just one month before his 102nd birthday.
Our condolences to his wife Bari and the hundreds of friends that he left behind.

Big Tujunga Wash Mitigation Area Trail Closure!
>>> Notice of Second Closure <<<
BEGINNING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2011 THE TRAILS AROUND THE TUJUNGA PONDS WILL BE CLOSED. THEY WILL LIKELY OPEN UP AGAIN ON SATURDAY JANUARY 28, 2012.
The purpose of the trail closures is to allow the Contractors crews to continue the removal of water lettuce from the Tujunga Ponds. The plant was likely introduced when an aquarium or backyard pond pet was released into the ponds and now it has flourished and is covering the entire surface of both ponds. Because this plant is threatening the habitat for endangered species, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has instructed the Contractor to eradicate the plant from the ponds and the creek. The dense cover of water lettuce is also having a negative impact on the native turtles and the water birds that live in and around the ponds.
The eradication effort will include a crew of men using boats and nets to remove the water lettuce from the East Tujunga pond. The water lettuce will be loaded into a large dumpster that will be placed in the parking area at the Tujunga Ponds. A tractor will be used on the pond trail to assist with moving the plant materials from the east pond to the parking area. The intention is to remove most of the water lettuce from the ponds in this initial effort and then follow-up maintenance visits will be conducted to remove plants that were missed during the initial removal. ECORPs Biologist, Ben Smith, will be on site to monitor the water lettuce removal effort to ensure that native species arent harmed as a result of the activities.
PLEASE BE SURE TO STAY AWAY FROM THE POND AREA DURING THE WATER LETTUCE REMOVAL ACTIVITIES. A FOLLOW-UP EMAIL WILL PROVIDE NOTIFICATION WHEN THE ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!

ETI News Now In Horsetrader Magazine
Starting with the October 21, 2010 issue of the Horsetrader magazine, ETI will have two pages for National news. This news will appear in the mid-month issue of the Horsetrader.
Many people have complained about the ETI Magazine switching to electronic on-line. The two pages available in the Horsetrader will give ETI a much needed print outlet, with wide distribution.
Typically, one page will be dedicated news and special events while the second will provide the ETI calendar. The Horsetrader is also offering special discounts to Corrals for advertising. The discount is for Corral sponsored ads, NOT Corral members.
Visit the Horsetrader on-line where you can view the latest issue of the California Horsetrader.
